Subject: The raja of satara- Pratap Sngh! & rango bapuji gupte.
Subject: The raja of satara- Pratap Sngh! & rango bapuji gupte.
Its the historical event. A person from rural India, Rango Bapu as a servant to The Raja of Satara,(descendant of Shivaji the great)goes fighting the first war of independence. Totally using democratic nonviolent means. He first puts forward the chain of events before board of directors of East India company. Then before the voters of London. Then he pleads before The British parliament. The justice he never gets. The book describes the proceeding before the parliament, which uncovers the malpractices of the company employees. The bright shining character of the last Chhatrapatee, The Raja of Satara.
Same is translated as a biography in Marathi by Prabodhankar Keshav Sitaram Thakare. It was a promise given to Chhatrapati Shahu of Kolhapur.
this book is a milestone in nonviolent opposition to East India Company.
